Check out the classes that we’re especially excited about right now at the Y.

  1. TRX® : Put down the weights and suspend your disbelief… and your body with a TRX workout. TRX uses your body weight and gravity to push your muscles to the max. These classes utilize the TRX straps for hundreds of exercises that will increase your strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and core stability. Check out any one of our TRX, TRX Express or TRX Circuit classes for an inventive workout that will mix up your routine.

  2. Les Mills BODYPUMP™: Get pumped up with Les Mills BODYPUMP. This class is the perfect option for anyone who wants to get a whole body, strength-training workout in just an hour. Our instructors coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out motivation and great music. The BODYPUMP philosophy is based on THE REP EFFECT, which exhausts muscles using light weights, while performing high repetitions. BODYPUMP classes are a great way to add variety to your workout routine and push yourself to your max.

  3. Yoga: Find your inner zen through the practice of yoga. Whether it’s a restorative yin class that brings you calm and inner focus or a flow class that tests your balance, flexibility and core strength, the practice of yoga will bring a newfound balance to your life, extending beyond the walls of the yoga studio. Attending a YMCA yoga class offers a relaxing change of pace and targets muscle groups differently than a weight session in the gym. Try out any one of our yoga classes as an alternative to your normal workout or as a recovery workout to stretch and relax your muscles.

  4. Aqua Fitness: Jump into the pool for a low-impact workout with a YMCA water fitness classes. Water workouts are perfect for people with health challenges including joint pain and arthritis. Just because it’s low impact doesn’t mean you aren’t getting an incredible workout. Water provides 12-14 percent more resistance than air, which helps increase the intensity of your workout — without you noticing. Water fitness classes are also a great option for active seniors. Try out any one of our water fitness classes, including Aqua Zumba®, Aqua Fit or SilverSneakers Splash.

  5. Pilates Reformer: An ideal way to reform your workout routine is with a Pilates Reformer class. The reformer increases flexibility, core strength and coordination. It is also one of the few ways you can achieve eccentric muscle contractions: when a muscle lengthens as it resists a force. This helps to develop long, lean muscles. The YMCA of Boulder Valley offers Pilates Reformers classes for every level. Start with a Pilates Reformer Level 1 class to get familiar with the machine and what it can do for your fitness journey.

  6.  Zumba®: Shimmy, shake and spin your way into a fun, exciting and unique workout that doesn’t feel like your average class. Zumba classes are a spectacular alternative to running on a treadmill to get your cardio. Zumba combines Salsa, Merengue, Cumbae and Reggaeton dance steps and rhythms to keep you on your toes. Our Zumba instructors love to host theme days to add a little extra fun to their classes. We guarantee you’ll leave every Zumba class smiling (and sweating).

  7. Cycling: You don’t have to drop $34 a class like David Beckham to get a great studio cycling workout. Try out one of our cycling classes to get a high-intensity workout that’s sure to get your heart pumping and your thighs burning. Instructors will lead you through a vigorous workout where you can climb hills, do sprints and ride for endurance without going outside. Studio cycling is a great way to improve muscular and cardiovascular endurance, tone your leg muscles and build mental toughness.
