Camping Supply Drive for Camp Marrowbone
at All Ys
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is collecting camping supplies for our partner organization, YMCA of the Seven Council Fires. The YMCA of the Seven Council Fires serves communities on and near the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation, providing programs and support for some of the most impoverished communities within the country.
Its overnight camp, Camp Marrowbone, serves hundreds of campers each summer and teaches life skills through the character traits of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility as well as traditional Lakota values.
A vast majority of campers receive scholarships to attend Camp Marrowbone and most are unable to pay for camping supplies. There’s where you come in! We need your help to give these campers a meaningful, safe and fun summer camp experience.
During the month of February, we will collect items the following items for YMCA of the Seven Council Fires:
Water bottles
Towels (new or gently used)
Sleeping bags (new or gently used)
Body wash (bulk size works great so we can divide it into our travel sized bags)
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Sun block
Bug spray
Chapstick
Pads and tampons
Combs
Lotion
Drop off donations at YMCAs in Longmont, Boulder, Lafayette, Johnstown and Cheyenne as well as our YMCA Inspire Preschools.
