BECOME A Y FRIEND

Reach Thousands of Locals While Making a Positive Impact Right in Your Own Neighborhood

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We serve our community through offerings that include fitness programs, before and after school care in elementary schools, middle school programs, summer camps, youth and adult sports, active older adult programs, aquatics and more.

What is Y Friends?

Y Friends is a group of local businesses that support the Y through annual contributions. As a nonprofit organization, we never turn away anyone who needs us. More than 30 percent of our participants receive some form of financial assistance, and the Y Friends program is one of the ways we can keep that promise to the community.

Reach Our Members & Program Participants

Along with supporting the community, Y Friends have an opportunity to market to our members and program participants. Tens of thousands of people throughout the northern front range participate in Y programs every year. Y Friends is an affordable way to reach locals while making a positive impact right in your own neighborhood.

There is a $500 annual fee to participate. Your Y Friends membership provides financial assistance to a family in need. $500 helps a child attend summer overnight camp or allows two children to enjoy summer day camp.

Benefits

  • Y Friends may put flyers and brochures in designated areas at all four Ys.
  • Get a short blurb about your business, offer to Y members (optional), logo and contact info on ymcanoco.org/y-friends.
  • Lobby TV ad at all four Ys.
  • Participation in four Y Friends Vendor Days — one held at each YMCA center as well as the Strong Kids Triathlon in summer.
  • In addition to the above items, Y Friends may receive representation on flyers and in marketing emails.
  • A Y Friend decal to display at your business.
  • Your annual dues provide financial assistance to a family in need.

Y Friend businesses must align with the YMCA’s values and mission statement. This is interpreted solely by our CEO and Board of Directors. The YMCA reserves the right to exclude promotional materials deemed inappropriate. Y Friends will be invoiced annually.

Promotion will not begin until we have received all of the following:

  • $500 payment
  • High resolution logo (300 dpi or vector file).
  • Brief description of your business (approximately 75 words), phone number, address and website.
  • Your company’s special offer or discount for YMCA of Northern Colorado members.
  • TV slide ad (specs: jpg, 1920w x 1080h pixels, 72 dpi). There are TVs in each of our Ys. TV slides rotate and are up for approximately 10 seconds, so keep content short. We recommend approximately 10 words (think of it as a billboard). We can create the slide for you if needed at no extra charge.
  • Promotional materials (no larger than 8.5” x 11”) for our Y Friends brochure rack at the Lafayette, Longmont, Boulder and/or Johnstown centers. Businesses are responsible for maintaining the brochure rack.

After your Y Friends status has been approved by our development team and payment has been received, you may submit your promotional info to development@ymcanoco.org or submit online.
