Facility Notices: The Longmont Y pool reopens April 16. The Arapahoe Y pool closed for bubble removal, April 24 (noon)-May 2.

Our Ys are open with newly expanded hours. Please check our reopening guide for programs that still require reservations and policies.

Without the generosity of our donors, the Y could not be a champion for parents, kids and seniors in Boulder, Broomfield and Weld counties. No matter how you want to support the Y, your gift will be administered as you like — having the kind of impact you want to make in your community.

Community Support Campaign

For a Better You. For a Better Future. For a Better Us.

One in three members and participants access Y offerings with the help of financial assistance. As a nonprofit organization, we never turn away anyone based on inability to pay.

But we need your financial support to keep that promise.

The YMCA of Northern Colorado’s Community Support Campaign takes place every February. Your gift to the annual Community Support Campaign ensures that all people have the opportunity to thrive — regardless of their financial resources.

$25 - Gives the Gift of Reading

Helps replenish the books in our preschool lending library. Reading with a child develops language skills, exercises the brain and enhances concentration.

$50 - Gives Nutrition

1 out of 7 kids in Boulder County goes to bed hungry. The YMCA/BVSD Weekend Nutrition Bag Program provides a healthy food source for these children over weekends and holiday breaks.

$100 - Gives Swim Lessons

Provides life-saving swim lessons for a low-income child. Studies show that formal swim lessons are associated with an 88% reduction in the risk of drowning in children.

$250 - Gives a Week of Day Camp

Campers learn to build confidence and resilience by challenging their abilities, and nurture new friendships with children from different walks of life.

$500 - Gives a Week of Resident Camp

Campers disconnect from technology, experience the power of nature and learn new outdoor skills in a beautiful setting.

$1,000 – Gives a Month of Preschool

Preschoolers enjoy a creative and research-based curriculum designed to build on their individual strengths and interests,

The percentage of students in the Longmont summer camps and after-school programs who receive YMCA financial assistance and CCAP (childcare assistance).

“In Boulder, we have families that aren’t visible to average people, but they are visible to the Y.”

—Bob, YMCA Donor

Capital Development & Other Projects

Capital development gifts provide the community with resources, properties and assets that make impacts long into the future. They ensure Y facilities are kept up to date, and they make sure the Y has space for life-changing programs.

The Cohagen-Platt Sports Field, Carlston Ice Arena, the Y pools, YMCA Memorial Garden and the Arapahoe Y pool bubble are all made possible with capital development gifts.

Gift Matching

You can make an even greater impact with your donation by securing a matching gift from your employer. When your employer supports your charitable giving, it amplifies the impact of your gift and helps us serve more families.

How to Support the Y Without Getting Off the Couch

Mar 1, 2018, 13:29 PM by Molly Lord

It seems like these days there’s really not much you can’t do from the comfort of your own home. With the touch of a button, we can talk to friends across the globe or go shopping, take a yoga class or find career prospects.

So why should doing some good for your community be any different?

During the YMCA of Boulder Valley's Community Support Campaign, it may seem overwhelming to get involved. Tons of events to attend. Tons of opportunities to give or volunteer. Even if you've already given, it can be intimidating and awkward to ask other people for money, even if you have been fundraising your whole life.

But don’t worry, we’ve got your back with four ways you can show your support and raise money for the YMCA of Boulder Valley without getting off the couch.

donate to the Y from the comfort of your couch

Did you know that if you shop through AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to a nonprofit of your choice?

Shopping using AmazonSmile is an amazing way to support charitable organizations while still getting all the benefits of shopping on Amazon. It’s super easy to set up, and it doesn’t cost you anything.

There’s no reason to not do it.

Just go to smile.amazon.com and select “Your Account” from the navigation bar. Once there, select the option to “Change Your Charity,” which can be found in the box titled, Shopping programs and rentals. From there, all you have to do is type in YMCA of Boulder Valley and select our organization. Once it’s set up, just continue shopping on Amazon as usual and when a purchase is eligible, a donation will be made.

Tell Your Y story

What is your Y story? Why do you love the Y? As you’re going out into the community to ask people to donate money to the Y, it’s important to be prepared. A substantial part of why people donate is based on emotional connection.
Type up your Y story and post it on Facebook. Find a picture of your favorite Y memory and put it on Instagram. Use all 280 characters on Twitter to share how the Y has impacted your life. Encourage people to ask questions about the Y, so you can get them invested in the cause.

The Community Support Campaign is exactly what it sounds like: A community of people coming together to support those in need with everything from swim lessons to preschool. Give $10, $25 or $100. Or if you have $100,000 to donate, we will definitely put it to good use. At the Y, even a small donation has an impact. $50 can help a child learn to swim. Think about that: You can save a child's life. So give today.

Change Your Facebook Photo Frame

A picture is worth a thousand words, so let people know you support the Y by updating your Facebook profile picture with our special YMCA of Boulder Valley photo frame. All it takes is a few clicks of your mouse and your love of the Y is available for all to see. Visit the Facebook profile frame page and search for the YMCA of Boulder Valley. Select our photo frame and adjust it to make sure it fits your profile picture. It couldn’t be easier.

When you support the YMCA of Boulder Valley, you help make our community a better place. Last year, the Y provided more than $800,000 of financial support to families in need in our community. We want to make sure we can continue to provide this level of financial support to our families, and every little bit helps.

So get involved without leaving your couch and help make a difference.
