Because of staffing needs, this camp may no longer be accepting registrations. However, we encourage you to add your name to the waitlist while we work on hiring additional staff. We anticipate spots opening up soon.
YMCA Sports Camp is back, and we can’t wait to keep your camper playing, learning and growing all summer long. The fundamental skills of our foundational sports like soccer and basketball will be reinforced through classic camp and playground games like capture the flag and four square. Each weekly session will kick off with campers breaking into teams for the week, and together with their coach, players will build relationships through the rituals of choosing a team name and mascot for the week. Mornings will be dedicated to learning the skills and strategies of our favorite sports, and the afternoons will bring the traditional summer fun your campers crave with swimming, big camp games and fun-filled scrimmages. Fridays will give campers the opportunity to show off their skills in a series of team challenges and share their creativity by inventing their own sports using the fundamentals they learned and the equipment they used throughout the week.
It’s not all about the games though: Sports trivia will make lunchtime a learning opportunity, campers will learn about the five pillars of The Y Way to Play and character awards will be given every Friday to stand out campers. We’re committed to keeping the groups developmentally appropriate, and curriculum will be designed with that in mind.
