REMOTE LEARNING & CARE

BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Keeping children and staff in cohorts:

Group size will be in compliance with public health and Colorado Department of Human Services guidelines regarding social distancing. All children will be put into a daily cohort that they will stay with for the entirety of that day. This allows the Y to limit the number of individuals each child and staff comes into contact with, as well as ensure compliance with local public health guidelines. Cohorts will be closely monitored to ensure all guidelines are being followed. Any COVID-19 related incidents will be reported to the health department and handled according to their guidance.

While school may look different this year, the Y’s remote learning space offers students a welcoming place to safely participate in distance learning while parents are at work. In YMCA programs, students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be supported as they participate in their remote learning programs while also staying active and enjoying fun activities throughout the day and after their virtual school day is complete.

In the Y program, staff will help students log on and connect to their school programs using their own headphones and laptop or device, assist with questions during remote learning and help keep students on track as they connect with their teachers online. During class breaks and after schoolwork is completed, the Y team will get students up and moving with fun and creative projects, games and activities to keep them engaged and active.

Held at the Arapahoe and Mapleton Ys. Children from all schools welcome.

Students should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, two masks, their Chromebook, a printed copy of their logins and passwords, and a printed copy of their online learning schedule. Please drop your child off at least 20 minutes prior to their first class or no later than 8:30am.

  • $65 per day (1-4 days a week)
  • $295 per week (5 days a week)
