BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Register by July 1, 2019, and your $85 registration fee will be waived and you will be entered to win free September tuition!

YMCA elementary school programs are all about fun, games, encouraging individuality and building strong, confident, healthy kids. During YMCA Before and After School Programs, Y staff members get to know participants, learn about their passions and personality, and work to celebrate who they are and who they will become. Kids in YMCA youth programs are exposed to new experiences, different cultures, creative projects and tons of fun! Whether it is time for homework help, exploring science themes, outdoor adventures or creating group art projects, the Y believes in safe, supportive programs that foster a community within the school.

Boulder Valley School District: BVSD before and after school are held at 14 BVSD schools.

St. Vrain Valley School District: SVVSD before and after school programs are held at the Longmont Y. Transportation is provided to and from the Longmont Y from the following schools: Central, Columbine, St. John the Baptist Church School, Mountain View, Sanborn, Northridge, Rocky Mountain, Fall River, Timberline, Twin Peaks and Alpine.

Introducing ePACT

The YMCA of Northern Colorado has adopted ePACT, a secure emergency network that we use to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically. Not only does ePACT replace paper forms, but it also ensures we have a way to communicate with you in the event of an illness, injury or larger scale emergency. If you register on July 1 or earlier, you only need to fill out your emergency contact and medical forms on ePACT. However, if you register after July 1, 2019, you must complete the emergency contact and medical forms in this packet as well as fill out your information again on ePACT. Your child will not be able to particpate in Y programs without the required paperwork.

Learn More About ePACT

The Y welcomes children of all abilities. Families with Children with disabilities are asked to complete the Supports & Assistance Questionnaire when submitting registration. The SAQ is designed to help us gain a better understanding of your child’s needs and strengths and to help us identify the specific supports and assistance that may be needed for your child to safely and successfully participate in activities and programs. The Y offers additional supports and assistance in small group settings. In a small group context, children must be able to safely and cooperatively participate in program activities such as community field trips, swimming, and outdoor sports and games. Children must also be able to reliably follow directions and cooperate with guidelines regarding their safety and well-being and the safety and well-being of others.

Activities Include

  • Sports and active games
  • Homework time/Learning Lab
  • Arts and crafts
  • Science and building activities
  • Healthy lifestyle
  • Team building and group games
  • 4th and 5th grade leadership program
  • Clubs: creative interest centers
  • Swimming lesson opportunities

Staff

All staff meet and often exceed qualifications established by the State of Colorado and the National YMCA. Programs are led by a YMCA director qualified staff with related program experience. We meet and sometimes exceed the State of Colorado’s 1 to 15 staff/child ratio requirement — another way we work to assure a positive place for your child. We look forward to your family becoming part of our YMCA family!
