Mask Use in Our Preschools

In the past few weeks, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has seen a dramatic increase in Covid-19 cases within childcare centers across the state. We have also experienced situations that have required us to quarantine and close preschool classrooms as a result of exposures to staff and participants. Our goal is to stay open and provide safe, healthy childcare throughout the pandemic, but we need your help!

Effective immediately, all children ages 2 and up MUST wear a mask at all times. This includes during outdoor play. The only exceptions for not wearing masks will be during meals and snacks and while sleeping. Additional exceptions can be made for children with a documented health care plan authorized by their physician.

We are adhering to these restrictions to help keep your children safe while in our care:

  • Staff and parents must wear masks.
  • Social distance requirements remain.
  • Continued increase in sanitation.
  • Daily health screens that include checking every child’s temperature upon arrival.
  • We require parents to keep children home when showing any symptoms of signs of sickness and to inform us if your child or anyone in your family are showing Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Parents are allowed to enter the lobby to check their children in, but we ask that you not bring a sibling into the building if possible. In addition, no parents will be allowed in the classrooms.

At YMCA Inspire Preschool for ages 2-1/2 to 6, we know that children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our talented teachers deliver daily lessons that allow for exploration and individualized learning opportunities for every child. By supporting your child’s academic, social and emotional well-being, they will be set up for a lifetime of learning success.

Located inside the Ed & Ruth Lehman YMCA in Longmont, we are uniquely equipped to provide our students with an amazing assortment of indoor and outdoor play opportunities. Along with our playground and bike park, we swim in the indoor pool, play in the gym and learn about fruits and veggies at our on-site farm. We’re even adding new preschool enrichment activities taught by our Y sports staff. Plus, all preschool families receive a free family membership to the Y. That includes access to our fitness centers, pools, gyms and more. With the membership, you also receive discounts on sports and aquatics programs, including swim lessons.

Call 720-797-2020 ext. 7295 or email the Business Office after you have enrolled in preschool to apply for your free membership. Please note, when you re-enroll for preschool for a new school year, you will need to reapply for your membership.

The Curriculum

Inspire Preschool utilizes Creative Curriculum, the same program used by St. Vrain Valley Schools. The research-based lessons are designed to build on each child’s strengths and interests while encouraging positive teacher/child interactions. The classroom environment and daily schedule are carefully designed to enhance the curriculum as well. We also use Teaching Strategies GOLD for progress monitoring and kindergarten readiness assessment.

Begins Aug 3

Registration System

Register for preschool online. If you create a new account in our online registration system using a different email address than what is on file with the Y, you will create a duplicate account and if you’re a member, you will not receive member rates on other programs.

Financial Assistance & CCAP

Y financial assistance participants may register online after their financial assistance has been approved. CCAP participants may not register online but must use the online ePACT system for required medical and emergency contact information and policy agreements. CCAP participants must attend all days they are registered for. CCAP participants will be billed for unexcused absences.

Paper registration forms are available for CCAP participants and upon request. Contact the Business Office.

Financial Assistance

The YMCA of Northern Colorado uses ePACT, a secure emergency network that we use to collect medical and emergency contact information for camps, preschool and before and after school care. Once you’re set up in ePACT, you will only need to verify your child’s information once a year.
