YMCA INSPIRE PRESCHOOL

FAQs

Is YMCA Inspire Preschool licensed?

Yes, the YMCA’s preschool programs are licensed through the Colorado Department of Human Services Department of Childcare. They are also reviewed and inspected by local county Health Departments to ensure all rules and regulations are followed.

How do I register my child for preschool?

Visit our Longmont preschool page or Johnstown preschool page and click the register button. You’ll be directed to our registration site. You’ll be prompted to login to complete your transaction. If you’re new to the YMCA of Northern Colorado, you’ll need to create an account. If you’re already a Y member or program participant, be sure to login with your existing account rather than creating a new one.

Families utilizing third party billing such as CCAP cannot register online. Please use the registration form and work with the Business Office to complete the registration. For additional questions about this process, please email the Business Office or call 303-443-4474 x1295.

Once I register my child, how soon can we start?

Once your registration is received, the director will contact you by phone or email to confirm a start date. Typically, we’ll be ready for you to start within the week unless we have a waitlist for the program. Please note that children with Special Medical Care Plans for health issues or allergies may require additional time for the registration process as medication delegations and processes may need to be secured first.

My child does not turn 2½ until November, but I need care in October. Can we start a little early?

Unfortunately, we are not able to make exceptions on age requirements, per licensing guidelines.

Does my child have to be potty-trained?

We do not require children to be potty-trained. Our staff will partner with you on a potty-training plan specific for your child to ensure success for them!

What if I need a schedule that is different than the options listed on the website?

We try to allow for flexibility within schedules, but due to licensing capacities there are some limitations. Please contact the preschool director to discuss your needs.

Is fee assistance available?

YMCA Inspire Preschools accept CCAP and provide internal financial assistance for those who qualify. See our Financial Assistance page for details and an application. Award amounts are based on income and expenses specific to each family.

My child has been identified as having special needs. Can you accommodate them?

All children are different, and their needs vary. If your child has identified special needs, the preschool director will be happy to meet with you to better understand your child’s needs and how our program is designed to ensure it’s a good fit. The YMCA carefully reviews IEPs and IFSPs when needed and uses an internal Student Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) to evaluate children’s needs and possible accommodations to ensure success in our programs.
