SWIM LESSONS

The YMCA is the nation’s leading expert in water safety and swim instruction. Along with Ys across the country, we have adopted a swim lesson curriculum that makes it easier for children and adults to become comfortable and safe in and around water. YMCA Swim Lessons begin with the development of basic self rescue skills as well as gaining confidence and ease in the water. From there, swimmers refine the strokes they have learned and progress their skills. The new lessons also include character development, family involvement and safety education components.

The YMCA offers swim lessons for all skills levels for ages 6 month to adult. Join us for swim lessons at our swimming pools in Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and Johnstown.

Infant Swimming Resource

The Johnstown Community YMCA also offers infant swim lessons through Infant Swimming Resource (ISR). ISR lessons are designed to teach children self-rescue skills in the water through one-on-one lessons.

SAFETY AROUND WATER

The YMCA Safety Around Water Program, supported by a YMCA of the USA grant, allows the YMCA of Northern Colorado to offer free water safety lessons to hundreds of local children. Kids from local school districts, as well as the Head Start program, come to the Y for lessons to develop water safety, water confidence and self-rescue skills.
