May 2 is International Pilates Day. It’s a day to honor Joseph Pilates (the man who started it all) and to raise awareness about the practice and benefits of Pilates. There’s a lot to love about Pilates. It strengthens. It stretches. It amplifies the mind-body connection. It makes your body feel spry and steady. Here are just a few of the benefits of Pilates:
- Improved Core Strength: Pilates exercises focus on strengthening the muscles ofthe core, which helps improve balance, stability and posture. For older adults, this reduces the risk of falls.
- Enhanced Flexibility: Gentle, controlled stretching improves overall flexibility, particularly in the spine, hips and shoulders.
- Injury Prevention: Pilates emphasizes proper form and alignment, helping to prevent injuries during daily activities by strengthening the muscles that support bones and joints.
- Increased Muscle Tone: Pilates exercises build long, lean muscles without adding bulk, giving a toned and sculpted appearance that supports overall body strength.
- Balance and Coordination: The Reformer helps aging adults improve balance and coordination, which is crucial for preventing falls and maintaining independence as they age.

We will provide a 10% off coupon to the first five people who register for the Reformer classes offered on May 2. This coupon can be applied toward the purchase of a Pilates Reformer package.
