YMCA Day Camps offer a safe, fun and enriching environment where kids can explore new interests, build friendships and create lifelong memories. Whether your child is interested in STEM projects or playing capture the flag, each day at Y camp brings an opportunity to grow and have fun.
What Sets YMCA Day Camps Apart
At the Y, we are committed to nurturing the potential of every child. We believe camp is more than just a place to keep kids busy. It’s a place to focus on building character, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Summer should be a time for children to disconnect, make new friends and make lasting memories. Our programs are intentionally screen-free and designed to keep campers moving, thinking and connecting with others. With staff trained in youth development, safety and social-emotional learning, parents can feel confident knowing their children are supported and cared for every day.
What else sets us apart? We support working families, and we know not every family has flexible schedules. That’s why most of our camps offer extensive hours, ensuring families have care from 7:30am to 5:30pm, if they need it.
A Day in the Life at YMCA Day Camp
Camp kicks off each morning with check-ins and icebreakers, followed by rotating activity blocks that include activities like arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, STEM challenges and team sports. After lunch and some time to recharge, camp is filled with group games and theme day fun.
Every day is a mix of energy, exploration and connection led by enthusiastic staff who create a welcoming and encouraging environment.
Programs for Every Interest and Age
The Y offers a variety of camp experiences for kids of all ages. From our traditional day camps to specialty offerings like sports, STEM, dance or Legos, there’s something to spark every camper’s interest. We also host day and overnight camps at YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake for a true mountain camp experience.
You can see all our summer camp offerings on our website.
Life Skills That Last Beyond Summer
While campers may come home talking about the water slide or scavenger hunt, the real impact of camp often happens quietly in the background. Making new friends and trying something outside their comfort zone helps kids build essential life skills such as independence, communication, resilience and empathy.
Many parents watch their child “come out of their shell” during camp. We see it firsthand, summer after summer.
Safety and Inclusion Come First
Safety is our top priority. Our staff-to-camper ratios are designed to ensure close supervision. Additionally, every team member is trained in first aid, emergency procedures and behavior management. Parents can be confident that when they drop their children off at a YMCA camp, they’ll be in good hands.
We also aim to provide an inclusive environment where every child feels seen and valued. Our camps welcome children of all backgrounds, abilities and identities. Our priority is to ensure each camper has a positive experience where they feel comfortable and are able to be their true selves.
