Facility Notice: The Arapahoe Y closes at 3pm on May 15 for a special event.

Our Ys are open with newly expanded hours. Please check our reopening guide for programs that still require reservations and policies.

Childcare While You Workout

Our trained and caring staff provide a safe, encouraging environment for your child while you workout. Parents/guardians need to stay on the property while their child is in Child Watch. Playing, reading stories, art and crafts and other activities provide variety and fun.

Child Watch is open on a limited basis  for those with an active family membership. At this time, we are offering care for children ages ‘walkers’-10 for up to 10 children at a time, and reservations must be made through our reserve system. Please read our updated policies on the Reopening Guide before making a reservation. Reservation slots have been scheduled to correspond with fitness classes at each branch.

Ages for Program: ‘Walkers’-10 years old. ‘Walkers’ refers to children who are able to walk on their own without assistance. We are not setting it as an age, but a developmental level. If your child is not walking confidently on their own, we are not able to provide ‘physical distancing’ that would protect the members and our staff.

Member and Non-member Fee

Child Watch is free and is included with your Y Family or Single Adult Family Membership. Other members, including Nationwide Members, may use Child Watch for $6 per child per hour. Guests may use Child Watch for $6 per hour per child (in addition to guest fee).

Health Guidelines

  • Our staff go through daily health checks upon entering our buildings.
  • Your child will go through a health check upon entering our program to assure that everyone is healthy.
  • Children will wash their hands immediately upon entering.
  • All toys/supplies that will be used will be disinfected before and after use.
  • We will deep clean our space in-between sessions to assure there is no cross-contamination between groups.
  • Social distancing is always a challenge with young children. We will help encourage social distancing between kids from different households by providing structured activities and spacing of the chairs and stations.
  • Staff will be wearing masks. Per Colorado state guidelines, children ages 2 and older must wear a mask.

If your child is showing any of the following identified COVID-19 symptoms they will need to be sent home right away:

Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

Children may not return to Child Watch until one of the following:

  1. They have a non-COVID diagnosis from their healthcare provider.
  2. They have a negative COVID-19 test result.
  3. They have isolated for 10 days, they’ve had 3 days with no fever and they are no longer showing symptoms.

Family members should notify the Y immediately if their child attended Child Watch and later found out that they were diagnosed with or were exposed to COVID-19.
