Soccer Programs in Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado Youth Soccer, a partnership of the YMCA and FC Boulder, provides youth soccer programs in Longmont, Johnstown and Milliken. Our soccer offerings were developed to help kids and teens of all experience levels learn the basics, improve skill and technique, nurture all-around athleticism and understand the importance of sportsmanship. We provide a welcoming, friendly, fun atmosphere where players benefit from the developmentally appropriate progression of our soccer programs.

Because of this focus on progressive programs and community, our players grow into strong athletes who have adopted a true love and understanding of the game of soccer.

Soccer is considered the world’s most popular sport, and it’s definitely one of our favorites sports at the Y. Every season, the Y and FC Boulder partner to give hundreds of kids and teens empowering, confidence-boosting, friendship-nurturing soccer experiences that help them on the field and off. That means they hone their ball-handling skills, learn to listen and communicate, understand fair play and sportsmanship, and so much more.

We believe that sports can teach young people so much about life, losing and winning, friendship and mentorship, resilience and hard work.

That’s why we are continuing to expand soccer programs in communities throughout Northern Colorado. We have offered soccer and other sports in the Longmont area for decades, and we are so excited to spread Y soccer programs into Weld County, including the Johnstown and Milliken area. The Johnstown Community YMCA will soon become our Northern Colorado headquarters for youth sports. However, now and in the future, we plan to run soccer programs at local schools and parks as well as at the Longmont YMCA.

And it’s not just soccer that we are bringing to Johnstown. It’s also the Y Way to Play. The Y Way to Play is our sports philosophy, guiding everything from coach training to parent interactions to refereeing. We believe youth sports can have a lifelong impact on our players, so we work to foster sportsmanship and create community while offering programs that focus on progressive competition and skill development for all.

And then there’s fun.

We believe the key to getting kids passionate about sports and staying active is making the experience both fun and foundational. There will be games. There will be high fives. There will be giggles.
