REMOTE LEARNING & CARE

WELD RE-5J SCHOOL DISTRICT

We’ve successfully adapted our state-licensed programs to meet and exceed CDC, state and local safety protocols.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

While school may look different this fall, the Y’s remote learning space at the Johnstown Community Y offers students a welcoming place to safely participate in distance learning while parents are at work. In YMCA programs, students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be supported as they participate in their remote learning programs while also staying active and enjoying fun activities throughout the day and after their virtual school day is complete.

In the Y program, staff will help students log on and connect to their school programs using their own headphones and laptop or device, assist with questions during remote learning and help keep students on track as they connect with their teachers online. During class breaks and after schoolwork is completed, the Y team will get students up and moving with fun and creative projects, games and activities to keep them engaged and active.

Students should bring a water bottle, two masks, their virtual learning device, a printed copy of their logins and passwords, and a printed copy of their online learning schedule. Please drop your child off at least 20 minutes prior to their first class or no later than 8:30am. Breakfast and lunch included. Students from all schools welcome.

Held at the Johnstown Community YMCA
