Take camp beyond borders!
YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake and the YMCA of Northern Colorado are excited to offer teens ages 14–17 the opportunity to experience camp on a global scale through YMCA of Spain’s Global Leaders Camp. Participants will travel from Colorado to Spain for an unforgettable three-week experience combining two weeks of international summer camp with a week of travel and cultural exploration.
At YMCA Camp Salduero, nestled in the mountains of Spain, campers will live, learn, and adventure alongside teens from Spain, the United States, and other European countries. Through traditional camp activities, outdoor adventure, leadership experiences, and everyday life in an international community, participants will build confidence, independence, and friendships that stretch across cultures and borders.
The adventure doesn’t end when camp does. Following Global Leaders Camp, the Tumbleson Lake group will spend an additional week exploring Madrid and some of Spain’s most iconic destinations, including Toledo and Segovia. From historic landmarks and local food to navigating a new city together, campers will have the opportunity to experience Spanish culture beyond camp while traveling with trusted YMCA leaders from the U.S. and Spain.
More than a trip abroad, Global Leaders Camp is an opportunity for teens to discover their place in a worldwide YMCA movement, experience another culture firsthand, and return home with new friendships, greater independence, and stories they’ll be telling for years.
Passport Requirement: All participants must have a valid passport that expires no earlier than January 2028.
Rate: $5,500
The program rate is designed to make international travel as simple as possible for families. This is an all-inclusive experience, with major travel, camp, lodging, meals, insurance, and planned tourism expenses included.
Your registration includes:
- Roundtrip airfare from Denver (DEN) to Madrid (MAD) up to $1,200
- Two weeks at YMCA Camp Salduero Global Leaders Camp registration and programming
- All meals and accommodations throughout the experience
- YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake staff leadership and chaperoning throughout travel, camp, and tourism
- Travel insurance
- One week of guided travel and cultural experiences following camp
- Transportation throughout the planned itinerary in Spain Visits and experiences in Madrid, Toledo, and Segovia
- Admission fees for planned attractions and paid experiences
- Pre-trip preparation and support for participating campers and families
Campers should only need additional spending money for personal purchases, souvenirs, and other optional items.
