Playing under the name of Lafayette Locomotive, HC Lafayette provides the family atmosphere expected from the YMCA as well as an experienced hockey leadership that will continue to grow the culture and programming at the Carlston Arena.

The Lafayette Locomotive name is a nod to the town’s rich railroad history that lead to the mining expansion and settlement of Colorado in the late 1800s. Lafayette’s railroads served an important role in the support of rock mines in the Rocky Mountains and built the foundation for the close-knit community that we all know and love today.

Health & Safety Plan

  1. The ice rink is reserved for players, coaches and officials only.
  2. One parent of each Locomotive Mite player may observe from the ice lobby. No other spectators are currently allowed in the ice lobby.
  3. We are limiting the amount of players on each team (15) as well as the amount of players who are on the ice at a time (30).
  4. We are cleaning and disinfecting the locker rooms and benches before and after each practice and/or game.
  5. We are asking our coaches to wear a face covering on the ice when in close proximity with players.
  6. We are requesting that each player bring his or her own water bottle and not share with another player.
  7. We are requesting that players use good social distancing measures — that they are not hugging, tackling or checking other players or coaches. Coaches will be reiterating this went on the ice.
